Start in a dinghy. Find your ship.

Argo is a free naval arena set in a miniature ocean. Earn upgrades through 37 boat classes and build around cannons, torpedoes, rockets, mines, drones, ramming or fleet support. Boats coast, turn and react to recoil, collisions and waves.

Choose your battle

• Free-for-all: gather salvage, fight other captains and grow your ship.
• Teams: fight together across island arenas, including 24v24 battles on Tempest Straits.
• Fleet Battle: start with a fully upgraded ship and a 44-point build. Up to 16 ships per side, one life per round. Play solo with bots, mix human and bot crews, or team up against bots.
• Duel: send a friend a private 1v1 link and choose from three maps.

New to the helm? Choose Practice. The Shipyard lets you plan, save, share and try all 37 ships for free.

Controls

W / S: forward, brake and reverse. A / D: turn. Aim with the mouse, left-click to fire, and press Space or right-click for your ability. E toggles autofire; the mouse wheel zooms. More controls are in How to play.

Free public beta

No account, download or payment is required. An internet connection is required, including for initial loading. This itch.io release is intended for desktop browsers with a keyboard and mouse. Clearly labelled bots fill quiet arenas. Multiplayer continues while menus are open.

Development & artwork disclosure

Development includes extensive OpenAI Codex assistance with code and text. Promotional/UI art and a texture atlas were created with OpenAI image generation. Boat models, terrain and effects use procedural geometry and shaders; audio is synthesized in code. The cover is an illustration. Screenshots show the actual game and menus, including the illustrated lobby background.
